Designers Vs Fruit & Vegetables for FoodMarketo- A project by Apartamento magazine and DesignMarketo for Milan 2010

Fruit Fishing

Apples float, pears don’t. It’s a fact.

A basic fishing rig (Paternoster Rig) is made up of a float, hook, line and sinker. We replace the float with an apple, the sinker with a pear and made a special connector made up of lines and hooks. The hooks are baited in the common way and when a fish takes the bait the apple bobs up and down to signal activity. The best approach for Fruit-fishing is basic line fishing, where a number of floats are attached to a simple hand reel. (Rods are not necessary for this technique.)

We tested our theory and as you can see, it works very well.

A project with Roberta Jenkins

A range of Christmas Ginger Breads in the shapes of Telephone boxes, Taxis, and Tube stations.

“The tradition of building ginger bread houses sums up the things we love about Christmas-time, cooking, building, decorating, sharing and eating. But something about them doesn’t fit, we live in a city, we love living here - Bavarian farmhouses don’t really have anything to do with us or our friends.

We decided to use gingerbread to make buildings and decorations that reference our world. These are not sweet souvenirs, they are cake models of our own experiences, the buildings we live in and enjoy, and the things that make us feel at home.”
